A Cold Night

(set: $evidence to false) It was a dark and snowy night, you are Armond White, an avid film critic and detective from upstate New York, and you have come to this cabin in the snowy woods to celebrate a Christmas party with your friends. You are freezing your butt off and the cabin looks so cozy, [[Go inside ->Enter]] [[Look around ->Cold OpeningL]]

You enter the cabin and warmth begins to fill your body and one of your friends, Tiffany Blue comes over, "Oh my gosh Armond!" she exclaims, "We were all waiting for you to start the feast come sit with us" [[Follow her ->Introductions]]

Whole lotta snow, not much else other than the warm cabin [[Go inside->Enter]]

You follow her to the dining room exchanging a few words, and once you arrive at the table everyone welcomes you with various hellos and what's ups. At the table are 4 of your friends: Tiffany Blue, a jeweler Jack Black, an actor Barbie Pink, a model and last but not least, Earl Grey, a tea mogul As Tiffany sits down she tells you, "Unfortunatly, John Green couldn't make it tonight so we have 2 open seats" [[Sit by Tiffany->Tiffany]] [[Sit by Earl->Earl]]

You sit next to Tiffany Blue and strike up a conversation between the two of you. "Any fun news?" you ask. Tiffany responds, "No, but I'm soooo excited to eat some of this food, I've never seen some of this stuff being served for a Christmas party, but Oysters sounds fun" "Oysters? Interesting" you reply. Tiffany continues "Yea John Green can't have shellfish but he's not here so no need to worry" [[Look at the food->Feast]]

You sit next to Earl Grey and strike up a conversation between the two of you. "Do you have any tea to spill?' you ask. Earl chuckles and responds, "Well I do believe that tonight will be an interesting night" [[Question further->Earl cont.]] [[Chuckle and look at the feast->Feast]]

"How so?" you reply. "Just look at the feast, who serves this kind of stuff for a Christmas party; Oysters, Escargot, Salmon, we never should've let Jack and Barbie prepare the food" Earl responds and continues, "I mean John Green can't even eat shellfish, not that he's here anyways." You reply, "Yea that is a little odd, but I'm willing to try it out" [[Look at the food->Feast]]

On the table there is a great variety of food and beverage ranging from oysters to salmon to the main centerpiece of a giant roast prime rib. You prepare yourself a plate of a little bit of everything and Tiffany Blue pours everyone a glass of cranberry juice except for herself as she only drinks water. Before you dig in Jack Black clinks his glass to say a few words, "Before we eat, I just wanted to say a few words, tonight is a wonderful night where we can all finally meet despite our busy schedules, unfortunatly we are missing John Green but dont let that take away from this fantastic feast prepared by myself and Barbie Pink and this fantastic night we will share, CHEERS EVERYONE!" With that everyone yells back cheers and raises their glass. Just then the lights suddenly goes out and everyone starts panicking. The lights flicker back on after a few minutes, and to your horror the body of John Green is lying on the floor motionless. [[Shout for everyone to settle down ->Settle]]

Everyone slowly settles down and regains their composure. You start talking, "Clearly there has been a murder of our friend here John Green. however I was under the impression that John couldn't make it so that must mean one of us did it" You continue, "Now as I am a detective, I will take it upon myself to lead this investigation, since we are alone in this forest I will assume that you are the killer if you try to leave" How will you start the investigation: [[Question Your Friends->Questioning]] [[Investigate the Body ->Body]]

You choose to start your investigation by inspecting the body There are no clear incisions on the skin meaning that he wasn't harmed with a weapon. Moreover you don't see any form of damage that would indicate a fight or altercation. What you do notice is that his the skin around his hand looks red and that there are rashes around his face. Outside of that there doesn't appear to be anything else of note. [[Start Questioning ->Questioning2]]

You choose to start your investigation by asking questions "I was under the impression that John Green wouldnt be here after hearing it from a few of you, I wanted to ask who was the first person to spread that information because I don't remember John saying it himself?" You ask aloud, Barbie Pink speaks first, "Well I learned the information from Tiffany Blue when she first came in" Tiffany Blue cuts in, "Wait I learned it from Earl Gray when he let me in and I asked who was here" Earl Gray argues back, "No wait when I let you in, I asked you when John Green and Armond White were arriving and you told me that John wasn't coming. Tiffany and Earl begin to argue back and forth on who spread the information [[Break up their argument->Questioning1]]

With the damage to his body in mind, you start questioning your friends "First off, before I reveal anything that I've found, I wanted to ask a question; Whose idea was it to serve Oysters?" you ask everyone. Barbie Pink starts up, "It was Tiffany Blue, she kept asking to put weird things onto the feast like Escargot and Oysters." Tiffany Blue argues back, "Yea but thats just because I wanted to try something new!" You start back up, "Well based on the rashes around John Green's face, it would seem that he ate an oyster which caused an allergic reaction, and this is not looking good for you Tiffany" Tiffany replies by saying, "Well I would have no reason for killing him, I mean Jack Black and John Green are always bickering whenever they were together." Jack Black pipes up, "Well it was just bickering I wouldn't kill him over it" Earl Gray chimes in, "I mean people have killed for less, and you were one of the ones who prepared the food" Slowly the arguing starts to pick up as you try to collect your thoughts [[Accuse someone ->Accusation1]] [[Search for more clues ->Search]]

You decide to look around for more clues, You announce to the group, "Quiet down everyone, I think we should look around for more clues before we make our final judgement" You continue, "I think we should split up and search the kitchen and upstairs in 2 different groups" Earl Gray speaks up, "I'll search the upstairs with Barbie, we can't have both of the cooks going to the kitchen" Everyone agrees with that sentiment, so now do you go upstairs with Earl Grey and Barbie Pink or go to the kitchen with Jack Black and TIffany Blue? You decide to go upstairs with Earl Gray and Barbie Pink. The upstairs only has a couple rooms which would've been where you would've stayed the night. You start searching each and every room and this was the results: Your room: Empty for the most part as you didn't have the chance to drop you things off John Green's room: His clothes are in the room which proves that he was in the house at some point Tiffany Blue's room: Her room only has her clothes and a half drunk glass of cranberry juice which smells a little fishy  Barbie Pink's room: for the most part her room only has clothes and some of the cooking supplies Earl Gray's room: In Earl's room you find a note which details a failed business deal that he planned with everyone, but Earl grabbed the note before you could read more into it saying that it's private Jack Black's room: In Jack's room you find a guitar and some cooking supplies as well With all the rooms inspected, you decide to head back down to see what the other group found (Link: "Ask what they found")[ (set: $evidence to true) (go-to: "UpstairsResults2")]

You choose to go into the kitchen with Jack Black and Tiffany Blue. The kitchen is in a different room entirely similar to how restaurants seperate their dining area from the kitchen. As you look around all you seem to notice is dirty pots, pans, an oyster shell, and food scraps lying around from when the food was being prepared. You ask Jack Black and Tiffany Blue if they found anything of note, but they also respond with no. You stop them both from arguing and also ask, "Well when I arrived Tiffany Blue let me in, but was she always the one who welcomed people in?" Jack Black begins speaking, "Well I arrived here first with all the food to cook, and I let Barbie Pink in and we started cooking." Jack continues, "A little while after we started cooking Barbie let in Earl Gray and he came in and out of the kitchen a couple times chatting and trying some of the food before the feast" Earl Grey jumps in, "Well I wanted to make sure the food was good before you served it to everyone, either way I ended up letting in Tiffany Blue 30 or 40 minutes after I had arrived, and she let you in when you arrived late might I say" You respond, "Well I wasn't the one who chose to celebrate in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere" You continue questioning and bickering with the group for another 30 minutes, but not much information of value was learned. With the questioning over, you finally decide to check the body to see what happened to John Green. [[Investigate the body ->Body2]]

You ask the duo what they found Barbie Pink starts up, "Well I searched one half of the upstairs and I mostly found people's clothes and not much else" Earl Gray follows up, "Yea, It was pretty much the same on my end" You respond, "Interesting, well our group was able to find something and it leads me to believe that I know who did it, and that person is... [[Acuse someone->Accuse]]"

You ask the duo what they found Jack Black starts up, "All I found was the dirty dishes and scraps from when me and Barbie Pink were cooking" Tiffany Blue follows up, "Yea, It was pretty much the same on my end" You respond, "Interesting, Ithink I found some clues that leads me to believe the murderer is... Earl bites back, "So what, there was enough time for Tiffany to do it too, or he could've come after Jack" You continue, "Well that doesn't explain this" You take out the Oyster shell from your pocket. "As we know John has an allergy to Oysters, and the only person known to have eaten an Oyster before everyone showed up was you" "There are no markings on his body as I had questioned you all first before inspecting the body leaving enough time for the rash to fade away" You continue. "And the red markings on his hands leads me to believe that he crawled out of his room where we eventually found him" Earl shouts, "SO WHAT, THIS DOESN'T MEAN I DID IT, I HAVE NO REASON TO" You quickly respond, "No reason that we know of, I'm sure that while we were investigating the kitchen, you were off cleaning up your trail upstairs, thats why you asked to go up with Barbie Pink making it seem like you wanted to split the chefs" You end, "You didn't have time to see if John was dead as before you could finish him, Tiffany arrived and you had to let her in and play nice until the feast hoping that John died in your room to clean up later, and with that I rest my case" Earl shouts, "NO NOOOO" as Jack Black and Barbie Pink quickly apprehend him to be arrested. With the case closed, everyone is a changed person, however all you can do is go back to your home to watch some films and continue on with your lives now that this is over.

I have done nothing of the sort" "Well" you respond laying out your evidence, "based on what I found upstairs, I'm led to believe it was you" You continue, "First off, I found this note that cleary shows that you feel betrayed by us due to the deal not working out, and because of that I believe you wanted to kill us starting with killing John using an Oyster" Earl bites back, "No, that note was very personal, and I intended to talk about here today with everyone, I wanted to fix the bad blood" Earl continues, "And theres also no way to prove that I gave John the Oyster, hold on I think you're trying to convince everyone that it was me when YOU were the one to do it" You reply, "Wait wait, no it wasn't me, I arrived last, theres no way it could be me" Earl quickly responds, "EXACTLY, Thats why you were so late it's because you were off killing John and trying to pin it on one of us!" But before you could try to explain yourself, all of your "friends" start to believe Earl, and they all quickly apprehend you. I have done nothing of the sort" "Well" you respond laying out your evidence, "based on what I found in the upstairs, I'm lead to believe that you commited the murder" You continue, "First off, I found a note in your room describing a deal that had gone wrong between us, but you grabbed it out of my hands before I could read through it" Earl bites back, "Well this was personal, and something I wanted to bring up to everyone myself, this doesn't mean I did it" You quickly respond, "Well not quite, the other important thing is that I found a half drunk glass of cranberry juice that smells like Oyster in Tiffany's room" Earl yells, "EXACTLY, That means she did it!" You quickly respond again, "I actually think it means the opposite, I believe that you planted this glass in her room as we Tiffany specifcally doesn't drink cranberry juice" You end, "Clearly you gave John Green the glass of cranberry juice with Oyster inside leading to him getting rashes and suffocating in your room, you then put the glass in Tiffany's room and left before confirming Johns death, and you did this as you felt betrayed from him not accepting the deal and lets just say he was the easiest to kill first, and with that I rest my case" Earl shouts, "NO NOOOO" as Jack Black and Barbie Pink quickly apprehend him to be arrested.
